Hazy, 2 words *Anger Management*..LoL..of course I would be a hipocrit if I wasnt kidding! I myself could use a little as well..

Question, have you voiced this to the creators of *Trillion?, perhaps they could help, afterall they are the creators of the program. I personally have never used it, but it seems to be quite popular and I dont think you are going to be when a few of the "happy" users read this thread.

There is another program that is supposed to be similar, I do not know if it is any better, since I havent used it either, LoL..
But if you are fed up with Trillion you might take a look at this client..I grabbed this link from here and I am sorry but I do not remember who to give the proper credit to for providing it.
The program looks pretty straight forward though, not to terribly tough to manage..
Anyway, here you go, it is just an alternative.. http://www.im2.com/
IM2 Messenger: Instant Messenger 2

Hope that helps,
Zero.

Hazy... I too agree with Zero that anger management may be a good thing! Personally, I've used Trillian now for over three years and never had an issue. I've also installed it on over 300 computers at my places of business without any issue. So, I must say that your issues that you are describing are a pretty isolated incident. I would honestly recommend contacting the creators of the program for assistance. They are awesome people to work with and always give you feedback in a matter of hours to a day.

If you are looking for an alternative client, I would suggest trying Gaim, found here: http://gaim.sourceforge.net/about.php It is a good client from what a lot of people have told me. But, if you have troubles with it, then you need to start looking for sources of trouble outside of the IM client... more along the lines of the machines you are using!

My question is, if you've used it before, and it screws up, why do you keep DLing it. Sounds kinda dumbass to me.

Geesh Hippie, To try and see if all the raving I have been reading meant it had been improved. Duh! Anywayz, to the people who happen to make the slightest bit of sense...
I have been thinking, I just recently installed MS' new "improved" installer. I'm thinking that this could be the problem. But doesn't MS make updates available to developers and IT well in advance? I dunno, I'll take a look see at these programs (Thanks DZ and yoda). I gotta say though, Unless Trillian has made HUGH strides I still don't get why people like it! I can't say though because I can't get it INSTALLED right!!

I've been running Trillian for a long while now with ZERO problems either installing or using it.

Your stupid, there is no problem with Trillian, its just you. I would approve if you died.

I think Hazy got a case of S.A.R.S (Sudden Angry Response Syndrome)

Uhh, just a little extreme, don't you think? It's just software.

Ever think that it might be a user error? I have been using it since 1.x and it works flawlessly for me. Never kills msn or aim for me.

Hehehe... Probably not going to happen (me dying) after all, I'm healthy, young, and half way through getting a masters in IT and am studying various other computer study programs. So, probably not just me....
Moving on... I don't know what the deal is, personally, thanks to the first two posts I have found a good program to work with until I can get with Cerulean Studios about the issue. I am going to ask them if they have considered the new "installer" MS has automatically updated me with. Seems to work quite well with some other things I have installed, but you never know. I LIKE Trillian, don't get me wrong, I just haven't had any luck with it at all. I think after this, I should NOT use my S/N over at Cerulean! I'd probably be flayed and barbequed!!!

Hazylunarrain -
I have also been using Trillian from the free 0.7? version and bought the 2.0 when it was released. I have since renewed my subscription and installed it on 3-4 different machines. I have never had one problem with it and thoroughly enjoy all of the features. Try checking your machine and when you get it installed, you may love it.

I downloaded trillian recently and found only one problem - it allows me to add a third user but it does not give that user access to MSN and Yahoo, only AIM and ICQ - tried reinstalling it but still the same. Would be nice to have full access for the third user, but other than that it works fine and does all else its supposed to. If anyone knows how to resolve this glitch, it'd be appreciated.

What is this new installer you got from MS?

I just reinstalled XP last night and got all the updates installed and Trillian STILL installed and works exactly as it should. I use version .74i as I don't like the way Trillian 3 handles IRC. I have never experoenced trillian dropping MSN unless MSN is having problems.
